Dedication Weekend at Clarence Presbyterian Church
The church is is all a pitter patter with the boots of construction works and the walking shoes of volunteers. It's been quite the experience as a new hire being thrown right into the chaos of a building project. Moving my share of boxes and furniture has given me a plenty of opportunity to get to know members of the church and fellow staff workers. Working alongside others has given me a different perspective on people outside the routine of Sunday worship. Everything is just about complete and is looking amazing. (And I may get an office soon too! :)
I've also had the opportunity to play around with the church website and video system. The web site has been easy to use on the most part and I was able to integrate my iWeb pages for curriculum enhancement directly into it. Big thanks to Andrew, a high school senior at the church (and our Communication Intern), who is helping me out with some of the nuances of google sites. The video system is fun to play with as well. It's actually a security-type setup and I've been able to program auto-recording for services and program different camera angles during the sequence as well.
Tomorrow is a big day with public tours, BBQ and concert (which I'll be filming too). Sunday is the dedication ceremony and service. I'll be sharing the childrens' sermon and running young adult Sunday School.
